Border Rail Project, North Section, Edinburgh

RJT initially contracted to carry out offline bulk earthworks of the northern most section of the Borders Railway Project. Our section of works consisted of 4km section of railway cutting and the formation of temporary bypass to allow the construction of proposed bridge to the existing A720. Our works expanded to the track side drainage throughout the whole of the north section (15km), the track sub formation improvement along with the lower ballast works and process crushing. Along with this RJT carried out earthworks to formation level for 2km of new rerouted road network.

Having the correct Environmental licensing and crushing experience to carry out on site processing of material from the rock cut. RJT were awarded the contract to process 350,000t of rock to produce 6B, Type 1 subbase and 4C material. RJT were processing in the region of 13000t per week. value £945,000.00
