Stabilisation
Soil Stabilisation – Reclamation
Many sites demand more than conventional cut/fill to achieve an effective earthworks solution. We offer a complete design and construction service for all site remediation and earthworks. Poor quality soils and ground contamination require a range of engineering methods in order to achieve satisfactory solutions which are the most cost effective for new and Brownfield sites. RJT Excavations work in conjunction with experienced Consulting Engineers, who are acknowledged as Environmental and Geotechnical specialists to provide and underwrite a wide range of remediation solutions, acceptable to the NHBC and Planning Departments. Our engineering partners cover all of our work with them under their Professional Indemnity Insurance.
RJT has successfully completed many remediation contracts providing ground platforms for commercial industrial and residential sites. Our accreditations include ISO 9001, 18001 and 14001 which ensures that all quality, health and safety and environmental aspects are fully considered and correctly managed.
Surface Water, Site Waste Management and Traffic Movement plans are put in place and RJT are fully capable of undertaking the responsibilities required of Principal Contractor.
Soil Stabilisation
Soil Stabilisation using cement and lime has been used for century’s to stabilise unsuitable soils and to improve their engineering properties. It is a technique RJT have successfully employed on many occasions.
Unsuitable materials can be treated insitu, reducing disposal to landfill, with savings on the need to import suitable fill or road stone using site stabilised materials.
The procedure is simple and following examination of the geotechnical reports for any project, or when necessary conducting preliminary testing, an accurate evaluation is made of the treatments we will propose. From experience we assess the viability of the available options and identify opportunities to reduce costs, and improve site conditions at an early stage.
Materials can be stabilised with the addition of lime, cement or other specialist binders to achieve a product to an agreed specification or we will design a mix to suit the performance characteristics required. Our work is then achieved, monitored, and tested against the specification as work proceeds.
Our specialised integrated stabilisation equipment adds binders and water precisely and at the same rotovates them into the unsuitable ground. Our equipment achieves an even distribution through the mix and minimizes losses through wind blow or evaporation whilst the rotovaters pulverising action further conditions the materials to achieve a consistent quality product.
